The mysterious Dublin house has been found... but it's in Belfast
REMEMBER THAT MYSTERIOUS ancestral Dublin home that US Reddit user Iludson was offering to pay €110 for the location of?
It’s actually in Belfast.
In an update posted on Reddit late last night, it was revealed that the house had been located by Boards.ie users, who were assisted in their investigation by readers of the original Reddit thread.
After looking through genealogical records, local directories and information shared by other posters, Boards.ie user shanew took to the forum at 10.30pm to suggest that this house – on Belfast’s Beechfield Street – might be the one the Americans were looking for.

The 1918 directory said the house was registered under the name of Maggie Mc Gouran, whose surname matched the maiden name of the great grandmother pictured visiting the home in the image posted online.
Just three hours later Iludson created a Boards account and logged in to reveal that shanew and the other house hunters on the thread had actually solved the mystery.
That might not be the end of it though: Iludson did hint that there was still a bit more digging to be done in future.
